Style of Moscow pianist Alexey Skanavi goes back to those blest days when Music was not divided yet on classical and popular, into "Art for art" and "Beauty for pleasure". Mozart's rondo, Chopin's nocturnes, Strauss's waltzes and Joplin's ragtimes are performed by Skanavi in a graceful aristocratic manner of great masters of the beginning of 20 centuries - I.Gofman, I.Levin, A.Rubinshtein combining heart-felt lyricism, a subtle irony and shine of masterly skill. In general someone could name a genre of his new series of club concerts refined entertaining music in style of a retro... When Alexey Skanavi plays a piano – it seems that he has 6 or 8 hands, but not 2. Alexey easily flits in modern music, both in a jazz and in chamber repertoire.
